Ali Sin is a classically trained pianist and multi-instrumentalist with over three decades of experience across classical, jazz, rock, and metal. With a career spanning live performance, international touring, composition, and studio production, she’s built a reputation as a disciplined creative force. Her solo work on piano brings that diverse experience into focus, creating a sound that’s raw, introspective, and purposefully unconventional—always pushing boundaries without losing its core.
Born in Rhode Island and trained under the Suzuki method from the age of four, Ali’s musical upbringing was a dynamic blend of the clean lines of traditional classical lessons and the earthy rhythms of New Orleans jazz, taught to her by her father, an accomplished pianist in the style. At the age of twelve, she began studying guitar with the same dedication, expanding her musical foundation. This early exposure to diverse styles shaped her into a versatile musician, comfortable moving between genres with ease.
Ali’s career as a composer and performer began in Providence’s vibrant art scene, where she immersed herself in progressive and experimental music. After establishing herself on that circuit, she relocated to Washington, D.C., and joined hard rockers Rome In A Day as lead guitarist and backing vocalist. In RIAD, Ali’s background in progressive rock influenced her approach to composition, and the group quickly began touring both nationally and internationally, including performances with Armed Forces Entertainment, the U.S. Department of Defense’s official entertainment agency. The band released two albums: From HereAfter… (2009) and Rise (2011), both produced by multi-platinum awarded producer Kevin ‘131’ Gutierrez (Paul McCartney, Shinedown) at Assembly Line Studios in Virginia.
In 2021, Ali released her debut solo album “Professional Killer,” once again collaborating with Gutierrez. The record features performances from Dave Monsey (Fiona Apple, Tedeschi Trucks), Stevie Salas (Rod Stewart, Inaba/Salas), and Gil Sharone (Marilyn Manson, Stolen Babies), blending brooding piano melodies, swampy NOLA rhythms, and heavy guitars into a sonic tapestry that is at once complex, genre-defying, and unapologetically distinct. From the frenetic energy of “Arson’s Lullaby” to the darkly intricate grooves of “Vicious Ballet””, each track pushes musical boundaries, weaving together influences into something wholly original and unpredictable.
Ali’s compositional credits include original walkout music for MMA and AEW fighters, custom scores for independent film and media, and session work across a spectrum of genres. She is committed to honing her skills and expanding her musical range, always seeking new ways to grow as a composer and performer.
